I bought this book for my great niece (4 years old) who welcomed a baby sister recently. She loves "reading" to her Sissy. My family enjoys the book for the content and how it speaks to the questions a little may have about what having a new brother or sister in the family means. It helps to explain how fragile new babies are, why they cry etc/5(5). Start a Sisters 8 Book Club! The Story Begins. On New Year’s Eve, eight sisters—octuplets—wait for Mommy to come back from the kitchen with eggnog and Daddy to come back from the shed with more wood for the fire. It just refers to it as a baby. It's a great size, simple wording, and descriptive pictures. My daughter can't wait to do all of the things the sister character does in the book/5(K).

VERY cute book for a big sister or big sister-to-be. What I love about this book is that it focuses on the positives of being "big" and empowers the big sister to be a good helper. There are no negative connotations with having a new baby (as I've seen in other books), and the baby in the pictures could be a boy or s: K.

I Am a Big Sister. or I’m a Big Sister – You’ll find these two on just about every list of big sister books, but I would recommend picking just one of the two. The first has simple rhyming text with a straightforward run-down of what life with a baby will be like, plus how the big sister can fit into that new life and be responsible for.

Having a sister is probably the best thing that’s ever happened to me. Granted, my sister Alex and I are pretty freakish: in our 22 years of sisterhood, we have never seriously fought. With an author's note about what big siblings need—extra guidance, reassurance, love—and sweet, engaging artwork, it's no wonder that nearly 4 million families have chosen I’m a Big Sister and its companion book, I’m a Big Brother, to prepare their young ones for their first big transition.
